It Takes a World © 2017 Medium: Digital-photo Painting – Archival Giclée print on surfaces, printed on demand Image Size: 1) 50.8cm x 50.8cm or 2) 76.2cm x 76.2cm Edition Size: 1/25 Description: A resistance statement to the obvious zeitgeist change within the United States that surfaced with the 2016 U.S. election. The background is the Constitution of the United States. Raised hands, represent the diversity of America and the labor exerted by all its people. Rather than stars in the field of blue on the American flag is an image of the world superimposed by the poem “New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus (an inscription that appears on the Statue of Liberty), welcoming all people from all corners of the world. “We the People,” “E Pluribus Unum” (out of many one), the founding principles of the United States which, I believe, are reminders for not only Americans but all people of this world to respect the dignity, sanctity and equality of all human beings, and all life. It is my belief that all life in this time and place is related. And as such, it is our duty as global citizens to care for and take care of this planet and each other. Artist: Peach Pair
