Arbella Sawyer Based in the south of France, young contemporary American artist Arbella finds inspiration for her paintings through new people, new places and foreign experiences. In a search for harmony between the concrete realistic world we live in and the subjective emotional world we all individually experience, Arbella’s art has become a fusion between portraiture and abstractism. Transcending the concept of race, she replaces all recognisable skin tones with a more eccentric colour palette that she feels more accurately reflects the colouring of our hearts and personalities.
