Ferney Manrique Aragon is a China-based visual artist who has been working on photography for more than a decade. As the tool, he prefers analogue photography, that one in which he finds himself fully immersed in the symbiotic nature of being absent or present before the object/subject. His body of work mainly focuses on street photography. However, because of the unique essence of film photography, Ferney constantly experiments with chemical processes in film development in conjunction with the physical mechanisms of the camera itself.
Further research has pushed him to scrutinize composition concerning frame (space) and time, pushing the boundaries of what the frame encapsulates; by doing so, the full extension of the negative plays a fundamental aspect in the act of image-making as a form of representation, as well as an apprehensive response to perception.
