Mikel Parra, a 19-year-old painter, was born in Morelia, Michoacán in 2002. It is in this city that he currently lives and produces his work. He came into contact with painting from an early age trying to recreate forms and looking for a way to express his ideas and feelings; that is how, in his childhood, he already showed interest in the human figure and its envi-ronment by representing it through sketches. He has always been interested in multiple materials and different drawing techniques, exploring them in a self- taught way, until he reached the deformation and expression of the human body in his works. Mikel Parra has exhibited throughout the entire Mexican country and in various countries around the world, making his talent known. He has participated in auctions, contests, collective exhi-bitions, magazines and television interviews, becoming an icon among the contemporary young artistic community, as well as one of the youngest artists in Mexico who promises to excel in the field of visual arts and to represent his country. Mikel Parra reveals his feel-ings, thoughts, criticisms and concerns about the world around him.
