Egotropismos has this strong aura of something biblical almost, something divine, confirming that only the presence of the Other is revealed as a trace of the Eternal. Faced with the face, an opening opens up to an inner search, to a contemplation before something that remains mysterious, impenetrable. In this sense the other is mystery, it is a trace of the Infinite that makes itself present in the face. It is absolutely clear that works of art act as a bridge between now and always.
