"Know yourself and you will find your true form."
(Ovid,Metamorphoses,BookIII)
It is important to know yourself and appreciate yourself to discover your true essence and beauty.
This is a reinterpretation of the myth of Narcissus, the young man who falls in love with his own reflection and, unable to look away, meets a tragic end. In this exhibition, we explore instead the healthy and positive side of self-reflection and self-love, reflecting on how a healthy understanding of oneself can positively influence one's life and one's art.
The central concept is the idea that self-love and inner reflection should not be seen as selfishness or destructive narcissism, but as tools for personal growth and inner beauty. The exhibition will explore how self- reflection can be a force for good, celebrating self-esteem and the power of self-awareness.
The works exhibited will be selected for their ability to reflect and celebrate self-love in a positive and constructive way. Each artist will be invited to consider how their work can express and celebrate inner beauty and the value of self-worth.
We invite artists to work on this theme through their works; "Narcissus" is an opportunity to explore how self-appreciation and introspection can be expressed and celebrated through art. Each artist is encouraged to consider how their work can lead the viewer to love themselves more every day.
