Sonni Carpenter is a self-taught artist who uses photography as her primary medium. As a disabled woman and mother of two, she use her art as therapy to release and depict the positive and negative aspects of living in these two specific situations, as well as to look through the search for identity, femininity and body image. Using simple tools and simple environments to help connect with her audience in a more personal way, she creates her work with the constant hope of understanding and connecting with others, whether it is her specific representation or someone else's version.
