Bio
Verena Grunenberg is a German abstract artist who has been painting since she could hold a pen. Since she loves nature very much and has always been concerned with life itself, she enjoys to paint trees. Also, original circles and spirals can be found again and again forming her artworks. Verena sees the tree in its entirety, as a sign of growth and ephemerality (Vergänglichkeit), just like life itself, that is, it always brings up different seasons in a new way.
She likes to see the world a bit more colorful than it really is and to paint abstract figures that come from her feelings as well. She prefers to paint in quiet and restless times and show her inner soul life on the canvas. Verena thinks that, nowadays, it is important to bring color into life and also to go other ways than the norm provides for life.
Through her work as a nurse in a hospice, she has learned to appreciate it and enjoy being able to show what is going on inside her. For the artist, “not everyone is lucky and we should all celebrate life and every day anew!” Verena hopes she can delight the world out there with some colorful paintings. In the meantime, she works as an experiential educator and spend her days where she likes to be. In the forest, between her trees, she feels most comfortable, whether it is hot or snow.
Verena’s artistic streak is clearly out in the open-air world. So far, she has only shared and sold her pictures with friends and she is currently active on Instagram. However, she paints when she wants to free herself from the world that does not always seem easy. She also paints when she is very happy in order to increase that happiness.
