Fashion in trash

2021

Info

Title: Fashion in trash
Year Completed: 2021
Size: 40x50 cm
Technical: mixed acrylic and fabric

Description
The artwork was created with acrylic and fabric scraps. It represents the different value one can give to scraps...It represents a small abstract dress centred between two shades of colour. The grey representing the fate those scraps had to have and on the other the light....Where they could come back to life and be decontextualised.

"I love to lose myself in colours and reused materials to express my deepest emotions. My favourite canvases are those in motion, unique garments that come to life on the wearer". Sara's art is the poetry of matter, it is alive and lives in the wearer...and not only that, because Sara is an eclectic artist. She moves from photography to canvas to wearable art. Sara is one of the examples of what is globally recognised as 'Made in Italy', as her garments are unique and authentic works of art. This Expertise is specifically dedicated to one of her canvas works 'Fashion in trash', made of acrylic and fabric scraps. Sara attaches value to waste, in this work of hers she practices an inversion of the concept of art that refers to historical precedents such as Burri's art, with a decidedly personal meaning. It all starts with the desire to elevate waste and transform it into art: from chaos to kosmos, a challenge that is played out, from start to finish, in the valorisation of fabric scraps.
Decontextualisation is the key to transforming waste into a work of art: only a special sensitivity like Sara's can succeed in perceiving the potential of matter. 'Fashion in trash' represents a small abstract dress in the middle between two shades of colour: that of grey, a colour that represents the fate of waste, and that of light, which presents bright colours, the main one being orange. Sara has the right sensibility to show that even something that in theory has no value can become valuable. Sara is a poet who works as a painter.
Finally, it should be emphasised that her interest in art and passion for fashion merge into a real brand, 'Trashit'. The artist's aim is to create paintings that come to life on the wearer.
