Bio

Ana Delgado is a self-taught Cuban artist inspired by famous painters such as Jackson Pol-lock, and Wassily Kandinsky. She is most creative in the solitude of her quiet studio listen-ing to contemporary music; enjoying how the sun and brightness of the daytime reaches her canvases to fill them with colors and poetry.
She started drawing when she was a teenager to deal with the struggle of her parents’ di-vorce. Drawing helped her find a way to channel sadness and the uncertainty of the mo-ment. As an adolescent, she received prizes for her innate talent. Her biggest source of knowledge and inspiration was her mentor, a professor from the Cuban School of Arts, San Alejandro.
Nature, flowers, and people doing trivial activities are some of the things that inspire her the most. Ana is driven to create by her passion for colors and beauty. She usually finds solace and peace in art since it helps her express her feelings and to feel empowered and motivated.

My artwork is a projection of my inner being: colorful, unpredictable, and always evolving. Therefore, my works are made of a variety of color palettes, as they reflect my deepest emotions and feelings. My love for abstract painting comes from the interest for the un-expected. I find my inner peace when I pour and mix colors with textures in canvases. I hope that my art invites the viewers to reflect and makes them feel alive and empowered.
