The embroidery artwork is a self-portrait. I have taken myself as a starting point because as a human being I also sacrifice. I literally sacrificed myself to model the artwork. The slightly embroidered artwork indicates that sometimes I don't feel seen, sometimes I let myself be placed in the background, but that I do belong to a whole. The black embroidered artwork is more prominent and has a clear view. She loves herself because she embraces herself and feels security. The tattoo sacrifice on her arm indicates that it has always been the case that people sacrifice themselves for themselves but also for others. The hanging threads show the drama but also the movement.
