Shannon always wanted to study at the Art Academy, but she eventually chose to study Theology and Interior Design. Yet her passion for making art, did not let her go. She is a self-taught artist. Her theological and interior design background can be seen in her artwork. Shannon's artwork is exuberant, colorful and full of depth. She paints with acrylic paint and complements it with different materials. By using paper from old books, wallpaper, photographs, Bibles, and magazines, a work of art gains more character. In her works, you repeatedly discover different depths and layers that tell her story. In all her works of art is a message of her faith, her emotions, and her background. Shannon mainly paints portraits of women in warm colorful combinations. Power women. Every woman is unique in who she is and can be, regardless of origin, age, IQ, culture or religion. They symbolize POWER and VULNERABILITY.
