“The work clearly represents the maternal union. A mother with her child is depicted towards an unknown destination on an undefined path. This type of representation thus underlines the strong bond between them. The whole picture is in complete harmony from a chromatic point of view in the gentle use of color; however it is made with thick and intense brushstrokes that still create a feeling of uncertainty as the route and destination they travel are uncertain. Their union is the only reassurance."
