Ally Hendriks is a 25-year-old Canadian artist based in Niagara, Ontario. She is a multi-media artist who creates highly distorted and surreal visuals, using vibrant colours and experimental techniques. Her materials often include digital media, acrylic and oil paints. Ally works as a Paramedic and volunteers as a Firefighter. Creating art helps her elevate occupational and personal stressors by expressing emotions that are difficult to verbalize. My piece titled Currents is the actualization of the transformation of the psyche, the subject loses a sense of self and becomes three figures immersed in an electric stream. The subject is self-surrendering their ego and abandoning their instinctive tendencies for the purpose of growth and renewal.
