Bio

BIO
Born in Madrid, where he developed his passion for Art and studied Architecture at the Polytechnic University (ETSAM) to become a Master´s Degree in Architecture in 2013. His love for Drawing and Painting allowed for the continuous development of his more artistic side. After graduating, he began working in a small Architecture firm in Madrid for two years. The next big jump is in 2016, a trip to London would be the beginning of a more international experience. Since then, David lives and develops his Artistic and Architecture projects in this city. The “Unreal City”, as T.S. Elliot describes the city of London in his poem “Waste Land”, opens a world of imagination and possibilities where David creates his Artworks on the eastern side of the City, focused on the Classic Life Drawing and Oil Painting

ARTISTIC STATEMENT
The painting “Reaching Freedom” takes place during the chaos of the first months of the Pandemic that struck the world in the year 2020. This oil painting is the first of a series of two works. The artist, using his own hand as a model and hiding his face behind it, wants to represent the millions of anonymous hands that worked hard and risked their lives to save millions of ours. This is a tribute to the heroes who, from the hospitals, helped us to get back out of our homes.
The oil painting “Allowing Freedom” is the second of a series of two works. It takes place during the first wave of the Pandemic that struck the world in the year 2020: the painting shows the artist's hands by the window of his house, looking out at the empty city of London, symbolizing the windows of all the people who stayed in their homes during the pandemic for the sole purpose of saving lives. This is a tribute to the heroes who, from their own homes, helped to save lives.
