What is Tessellation Composite?
I create my works with the aim of developing a unique style day by day.
While studying European-style graphic design at university, I began to feel that artistic expression should not only be beautiful but also freer. At the same time, I realized that even if I mastered the traditional method of repeating geometric shapes, creating something truly innovative with such a well-established technique would require a conceptual shift, something beyond pure formal exploration.
It was within this reflection that the idea of imposing a new rule on geometric forms emerged: the rule of light. One day, I experimented by adding gradients to geometric shapes with minimal concrete elements to create the effect of shadow. I discovered that the direction of light introduced a clear sense of orientation, up and down, as well as depth across the surface. From this, another principle revealed itself: gravity. By establishing a sense of verticality, I could naturally convey dynamics such as “bouncing” and “stacking” within an abstract field.
Combining these discoveries with my intuitive sense of form, the ability to select the most effective relationships of line and surface, and my sensitivity to color, I developed a distinctive artistic style. In my works, viewers can perceive a rhythm that seems to float, while also experiencing a palpable sense of presence, anchored by gravity.
This synthesis is what I call “Tessellation Composite”.
