Erica Renee Bren, currently live and paint in Sun Valley Idaho, I spend the summers at home where I’m from in Hawaii. I was trained in classic charcoal life drawing techniques. Studied Art History and drawing in Honolulu and Paris. I have always been attracted to figure drawing and the primitiveness of charcoal. My love for horses inspire my paintings, so powerful, free with such a natural raw energy.

The color scheme for Grey was inspired by the stormy sunrise over glittering snow filled mountains while skiing. I decided to focus on the incredible depth of the greyscale.

Rococo Style and the Fête Galante resonates with my innate desire to express nature through my art. I have evolved to a more minimalist approach. Discovering the power in empty spaces, focusing on the essential lines, soft colors, and shading in order to create powerful movement in my images.
