Bio

Ivan Luchin I was born in 1975 in Udine, Italy. I have had other jobs before working like videomaker. My career in this field began by chance, it was the result of a personal metamorphosis necessary to survive and get out of the unemployment in which I had found myself at the end of 2014. I had no knowledge of video, just a lot of passion for cinema and good will to learn. I am self-taught in this field and I think that there is never an end to the possibility of improving and learning new techniques. I started to create video reportage, that is to tell with moving images events and demonstrations without being able to plan frames, lights and times. Everything is more difficult, everything is \"one shoot one kill\". But everything is more true. The same attitude I apply in what for me is a passion and a way to pull the plug from the video world: photography. I love street photography, I love the picture not built, not planned, I love telling the city and its inhabitants as they are. It doesn’t mean not having a technique, it means using it in a very complicated context, it means rolling up your sleeves to improve more and more. I prefer wide-angle lenses: they can capture all the contours of a scene, even the most \"dirty ones\", making the image even more true. I don’t know if one day street photography will become my profession, but it will certainly always remain another way to tell the world with an image, in its own way, however in motion.
