Kiyoko Fueki

Artist

Bio

Biography.
Kiyoko studied Aesthetics and Art History at university and obtained a curator’s license.
Since 2003, she has been working at a photo studio.
In 2006, she began her journey as a healing photo artist after unexpectedly capturing a vibrant image of the sun with her mobile phone. Since then, she has expanded her creative work by producing original oracle cards from her sun photographs, which she uses for divination. In addition, she serves as an art therapy instructor.

Artist Statement.
In January 2006, Kiyoko took a photograph of the sun using her mobile phone camera. The image was highly unusual: the sun appeared exceptionally vivid and colorful. The camera was not malfunctioning, and the photo was unedited. It was captured exactly as it appeared.
The colors resembled what psychics described as the “aura of the sun,” so Kiyoko named it the “Sun’s Aura Photo“.
Inspired by the photographs of water crystals, she began thinking of words that bring happiness to people as she pressed the shutter. Sometimes, the color of the light seemed to change depending on the words she held in her heart. She uses these words as the titles of her photographs.
Many people report feeling healing vibrations, high frequencies, and strong energy when viewing her work. According to an energy researcher, her photographs indeed carry healing energy. Having experienced illness herself, Kiyoko deeply empathizes with those who suffer, and she hopes her sun photography can offer healing and comfort to those in pain or depression.
Her mysterious and unique sun photographs have touched many hearts: people say they help purify rooms, bring good luck, and even relieve physical pain when applied to the body. As demand has grown, people from across Japan have purchased her work.
These photographs often show hues of pink, representing love, and green, symbolizing healing and peace. Kiyoko believes the sun loves all living things, heals them, and wishes for their happiness and for world peace. Through her photographs, she hopes to share this gentle energy and beauty of sunlight with the world.
In 2018, she named her work “Love Sunlight”, conveying the idea of “a photo that feels and transmits the love of the sun”.
