Bio

Ena Nakano is a Japanese artist graduated from the illustration course of Kyoto University of Art and Design. She has had eleven solo exhibitions in Japan and has participated in more than thirty group exhibitions so far. Of these, the international ones have been in Shanghai, Istanbul, New York and Oakland; her upcoming exhibitions will be in Australia and New York. She has also participated in an art fair in Taiwan, ONE ART TAIPEI.
Ena draws down the images she sees above her head and the sensations her soul receives. She has been able to sense the unseen since she was a child. In addition, she studied the teachings of Buddha at a local temple and became deeply interested in the nature of the mind. This naturally became the theme of her art and it became the cornerstone of her work, placing importance on “how I feel” rather than “what I draw”.
Expressing what she feels as a painting releases her from her physical body and heals her heart from the difficulties of modern life. Through experience, she realized that what she was receiving, in words, was love and light, the pure energy from the universe. In a world that depends on the material outside of ourselves, Ena hopes that her art will restore the sense of a heart.
