COMMON LIGHT

We are living in times that are often uncertain, fragmented, marked by rapid transformations and a widespread sense of disorientation. And yet, even in the most complex moments, art has the power to carve out space, to spark new possibilities, to offer fresh directions for our gaze.

“Common Light”, the July international group exhibition hosted by M.A.D.S. Art Gallery, is born from this very intuition: that there exists a form of light which does not belong solely to the individual, but can become a shared heritage. A light that is not the denial of darkness, but one that passes through it — and transforms it.

This exhibition brings together the works of artists who, through diverse languages — from painting to photography, from installation to video art — embody a simple yet powerful idea: beauty as a form of resistance, and creativity as a way to care for the world.

It is not a sterile or consolatory beauty, but one that emerges from everyday gestures, from contact with nature, from the value of human relationships, from the memory of what has done us good.

In a way, each artwork on display is a small source — of color, of reflection, of wonder, of tenderness. And together, they form a landscape that is fragile yet radiant, an invitation not to stop seeking — and creating — light, even when it’s hard to see.

 “Common Light” is meant to evoke something collective, open, and accessible. An idea of art that does not isolate itself, but instead engages in dialogue, listens, and builds connections.

It is an exhibition that does not shout, but rather accompanies. One that does not pretend to offer answers, but creates space for sincere questions.

We need art that reminds us that beauty is not a luxury, but a deep necessity. That hope, in order to be real, must be shared. 

That even the smallest light — when lit together — can truly make a difference.
