Pirjo Partanen mostly paints with acryl on canvas, plexiglas or bambupaper. During last years she has made installations and environmental art from recycled material as well. Her works can be abstract or figurative, and colors are important to her and are especially emphasised in her abstract works. In painting, the best thing she thinks in flow. Partanen’s interest in nature and environmental protection is reflected in her works, that often present various phenomena of nature and its small or bigger details. She does not paint people, but in her works she also studies people’s relationship to nature and to the world around them.
