Bio

Anke studied visual communication and graduated as a graphic designer. After that she worked in different international advertising agencies as an art director. She has worked with her voice as a singer and speaker in recording studios and she also composes music. Furthermore, she worked as a lecturer in a children's art school. Her passion since childhood is painting and draw-ing. She is a German artist, living near Frankfurt. Creating her artworks mostly on canvas, card-board, or paper, she mainly uses acrylics, gouache, watercolours, ink, black and coloured, char-coal and watercolour crayons as well as wax crayons and pastels. She loves to use and apply her versatile skills of artistic expression. Figurative painting and drawing, facial expressions and body language particularly fascinates her, abstract painting and drawing, act painting and draw-ing, sketch drawing, sculpturing, faces and bodies, photography, she’s playing with cut-outs and digital edited alienations. It is also very important to her to find in all her artworks the right artistic vocabulary to communicate what she wants to convey. Her versatility allows her to express the content of her messages in different ways. On the one hand, she wants to confront the viewer directly and transparently with the duality inherent in our perception. On the other hand, she also wants to invite the viewers to a transformation of their experience. To lift the duality, to recognize what hurts, name it and then let’s turn the page. From shadow to light. This is her message and her artistic aim! She often shows the pain, the injustice, the assaults that can be done to a per-son. His painfully impotent speechlessness. Shouted out and thereby free itself. She represents in her artworks learning to redeem itself, to become free from the respective torment. There is also her passion for erotic painting and drawing, the beauty and grace, the pleasure, the lust, the charm, as well as the longing for fulfillment. These are aspects that for her are so much more than to be considered only on the sexual level. She loves to show the nudity because it is pure. It is for her the still blank canvas on which then the search for and preference for everything per-ceived as beautiful can unfold, sprung from their own imagination. Every model is naked before it dresses in the couture of the fashion designer and then presents it, every room is in a state "be-fore" a designer transformation. So, when she shows nudes and nude couples, the viewer can dress them with his own imagination, like the fashion designer dresses his models.

“Design and fashion are also like my dancers, inspired by their encounter, both always find their own, new and unique expression. An expression that arises from the fruitful fusion of two worlds, two galaxies, a universe opens full of inspiration and creativity”.
