Limited edition NFT of Gregory Logan Dunn's 2020 acrylic on canvas painting Gates of the West. This painting has spent the past several months of 2022 and 2021 in 3 different exhibitions in London via SKT Gallery. This is perfectly appropriate as the painting is inspired by a song of the same name by The Clash. But the painting is about America, and the violent shift the country took when stupid, racist and crazy was culled into a powerful voting demographic that elected Donald Trump to office. The lies and criminal action by this administration made the high crimes of Watergate look like a parking ticket. But one of the worst injustices committed was to close se-lect borders to immigrants from Mexico, to imprison people whose crime was a desire for a bet-ter life. Because America is the land of opportunity. The shining city on the hill. The gates to which were closed unless you were white.
