Mountaintop cave man, a late Paleolithic human in North China, belongs to late Homo sapiens. It is named after the mountaintop cave found at the top of the Peking Man Site in Longmen Mountain, Zhoukoudian, Beijing. It was discovered in 1930 and excavated by Pei Wenzhong in the Cenozoic Research Office of China Geological Survey from 1933 to 1934.
