Rebekka Sigg was born and raised in Switzerland, where she still lives with her family. Her curious, positive and joyful nature is reflected in her works: The artist mostly uses vibrant colors and is experimenting with different techniques and media. As a self-taught artist she likes to leave pre-traced paths and doing it her own way. Colors, shapes, patterns have always played an important role in the artist's life. Lines and patterns merge in her compositions and challenge the imagination and fantasy of the viewer. The origin of my works lies mostly in nature. They are an attempt to express how or what I feel when I walk through colorful autumn leaves, when the sun warms my neck or when cool raindrops refresh the tip of my nose. An attempt also to capture happiness. The power and energy nature gifts us with, if we let it happen.Since my first journeys to Scandinavian countries, a great love for the North has grown in me and with it a preference for clear lines and simplicity; colours, lines and shapes. I am always trying out new techniques and combine freely according to my mood.
