‘ Pine Tree Bark ’ 65 x 65cm , 2020 Mixed media on Kraft card. This is a close up study of Pine tree Bark using mixed media. The intention being to show different layers using different mediums. The shadows are painted to emphasise the darkness then over-layed with straight edges to provide form using a sharpie pen. The highlights are a mixture of soft chalk strokes contrasted with white hand cut stickers. The overall effect being that of phasing between light and dark and softness and hard edges of the barks surface. Artist: Simon King-Underwood
