YRIS is a French-Canadian duo who started working together in 2020. The first member is an abstract expressionism (action painting) artist working with acrylic paint since 2012. She uses rulers, scrapers, and angle squares to create lines and shapes in an abstract way.
The other is a computer programmer who spent most of his life working all around the world conducting humanitarian work removing unexploded ordnance in post conflict countries before learning to code in 2020.

Together they are exploring possibilities of linking physical art to the digital world such as with NFTs, the metaverse and machine learning. One of their early works is the YRIS logo which can be generated infinitely using a palette of color extracted from the physical painting.
