Ally Bee
Mixed Media Artist
Bio
Ally Bee was born in South Florida. As a young woman she studied Architecture, Art, and Communications at the University of Miami. The decision to become a full-time painter came after watching her dad suffer dementia, aphasia, and Alzheimer’s passing. Her early career as a brand, graphic and web designer in fashion, architecture, education, and healthcare industries. Her world of art invites us to see his joyful perspective, surrounding us with movement, reflective foils, and brightly coloured acrylic and oil paint to create a dancing, mixed media art. Her unique portrayal of geometric forms evokes feelings of happiness and calm showing beauty in the world around us. Ally Bee has redefined art as we know it with an architectural flair! Ally Bee was struggling through her father Cliff’s ill-ness, spending hours talking to him and showing him photos with little response as he was suffering aphasia, dementia, and Alzheimer’s. Watching her Dad fade from a bright man, the founder of Emergency Medicine to parroting “I love you”. Ally Bee has dedicated herself to philanthropic causes through his art. "The funds I help raise save lives - it's the most important thing I do, “declares Ally Bee. In 2023, her father lost his battle with de-mentia, aphasia, and Alzheimer’s. “Medicine could not cure my Dad’s suffering or recall his memories, but I want to raise funds for a cure to brain diseases to help save the pain and suffering of other families," said Ally Bee. Her continuing effort has driven him far beyond the canvas, bringing her closer to his goal of raising money to help win the war against brain diseases and mental illness. Current projects are in the works making this achievement happen. Ally Bee says, "The world is small - you can truly make an impact on humanity." Statement
To escape my darkness and self-critical demons within my mind I pollinate my art with bursts of color and movement. Dancer turned artist; I reach flow state when creating motion in art. A Fort Lauderdale native, I’m pulled in and out of depression with the current of my mind like the waves and tide. Watching my mentors, Nana Bee and Dad suffer strokes, heart attacks, demen-tia, and aphasia - I respect the delicate nature of life. Humans may be suffering in silence, yet a glimmer of happiness may come to their face when surrounded by colour in a space. I pollinate the art world with peace and joy.
