Title: Glider
Year: 2021
Size: 100x100cm
Technique: Acrylic on Canvas

The title Glider refers to an effects pedal (often used in the music genre shoegaze) to distort
guitar sounds. It is also a song title by the band “My Bloody Valentine“.
Analogous to the shoegaze method, in which several guitar surfaces are superimposed, I
superimpose different painterly layers in this series of images.
There are expressive elements, in which the characteristic style is strongly pronounced, on
depth-evoking backgrounds.
The intention of superimposing the most diverse surfaces is to prevent the pictorial space
from being grasped and penetrated quickly.
The conceptual approach consists in creating ambiguous and ambivalent pictorial spaces.
