Daniel Weber (*1995) was born in Switzerland and grew up in the idyll. However, in his artistic work, he breaks out of it. He makes use of the global treasure trove of images on the Internet, voyeuristically ferreting out fleeting moments in the everyday lives of anonymous people. Then, with a wink and with the help of decoupage, he illuminates the found digital reality. Collaged still lifes emerge, the globalized aesthetics of the digital are suddenly captured on tangible canvas. This change of perspective lends coincidences, errors, and intimacies an oppressive urgency.
