Olivia Seay is a self-taught painter. Though creativity has always been present in her life, it is only in the past few years that she has fully embraced identifying herself as an artist: thanks to a meditation practice began at the age of 33, Olivia re-connected with an innate desire to draw and paint. After participating in a portrait painting class in Italy, she slowly gathered momentum, realizing that the combination of painting, meditation, and nature is what nourishes her soul and provides her with peace, balance, and healing.
Olivia aspires to represent the power, wisdom and beauty of the natural world and the feminine spirit. She is interested in where our child and our adult selves intersect – and the that this has on our understanding of 'strength', both as gentleness and fortitude. Buddhist philosophy and the concept of impermanence also influence the mood of her work.
