Description: Picasso identified with the Minotaur, he even called himself the Minotaur. Picasso was a womanizer but he was also a psychological abuser of the women who got close to him. Francois Gilot was the only woman to survive a close relationship with him unscathed. She left him and moved on and has been having a very successful life without him. Francois is the inspira-tion for this painting. She is walking away from the minotaur into her future leaving her past be-hind.
