Yulia Parfenova My name is Yulia Parfenova. I was born in Russia and later moved to Switzerland to study Natural Sciences. Working in a creative scientific environment and being regularly out in nature took me down an entirely different avenue – to become an emerging artist. Art for me is an exciting opportunity to experiment - with different styles and colors. I use canvas as a playground to mix different ideas and emotions and turn them into a unique piece of work that other people can connect to. In my works I am focusing on the human being and look for the way to express its complex mental state. Being inspired by breathtaking views of Swiss Alps I often choose a mountain landscape as its interpretation. Like the human mind with lots of ups and downs, the mountains have high hills, low valleys, and steep slopes in between.
