If the American Enlightenment gleaned what the country could be as a democratic state with universal freedoms, then the American Satori is the realization that these freedoms bestowed on us by the founders of our country are in fact what is destroying it now. The freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the right to assemble were the vanguard of the attack on the Capitol on January 6th, 2021; and this could have and should have undone our democratic process and in effect our government. If Trump had not told the mob to go home and the election had not been certified, the United States of America might have a different name today. Before and after January 6th, these states are united in name only, with the country deeply divided on how our the inheritance of our independence and our constitution are to be wielded to fulfill our destiny as a nation.
