This is a painting of the aroma and taste of a certain great red wine from California. I painted it with transparent watercolor.
Aromas of black currants, roses, aromatic trees, and Indian spices. The taste is dense and intense. The wine is very complex and shows various expressions over time, with a linger-ing finish of ripe rose-scented strawberries. Long, long finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, 2016.
I used "suihi" pigment, which is also used in Japanese painting, gum arabic, silver medi-um, and granulation. The finish is Rose Madder Genuine by Windsor and Newton, a rose-scented watercolor paint. So this painting smells like a rose.
