Bio
Kanae Koyama draws a spiritual world that is colorful and borderless.
She grew up in Tokyo and lived with her family in the premises of her grandfather's temple. Her grandfather was a priest. From an early age, she became accustomed to Buddhism culture and its influence is manifested in the high spirituality of her work.
She has been painting since the mind settled and has challenged various paints with crayons, watercolors, colored pencils, oils and acrylics. She also make washi paper.
When she traveled to Bali in 2003, she met Balinese paintings depicting the spiritual world. From the following year, she studied Balinese painting while staying at a painter's house in Bali. When she returned to Japan, she met Buddhist painting which is one of traditional Japanese paintings depicting flower bird fans and gods like Balinese paintings and began to learn. In 2015, she worked hard on the production of “Koden-temple mandala. She has participated in many solo exhibitions and group shows, and currently works in her own gallery and studio.
She values inspiration. From now on, She lives in Tottori Prefecture and conveys how to have a free mind unconstrained by rules and encourages many people through the picture.
Inspired, Kanae Koyama continues to produce art.
