“Utopia1” is one of a set of four paintings that are a part of the series “Utopia”: initially inspired by spontaneous forms, she then connected them with her memories, a mixture of places she has been or imagined in particular during the difficult and stressful lockdown period. After experiencing anxiety, anger and depression, for Shinako now it is time to believe in the future: “Utopial” therefore is a creation of a paradise in which she would like to be now, representing a place of peace and freedom recalled by its light and shaded colors.
