Description: The process of this painting entailed multiple acrylic paint layers with tape masking and then the eventual addition of oil paint for the vibrant colors and texture. I work with a palette knife for the majority of my work and then add in the small details with a brush. The palette knife allows for the sharp, vibrant colors that I aim for within my paint-ings. I decided to try a new technique with this painting by adding hot glue and a candle wick for texture on the candle which gives the piece a lively addition that is inviting to touch.
