Jaanika Bavhal My name is Jaanika Bahval. I am a 34-year-old artist from Estonia who paints with clay. I started painting in 2018. After trying to find my style and expression for several years, I started trying to paint with clay. I wanted to invent something completely new. Material and techniques that no one else has used to create in this way before. Clay paintings are the art of pouring liquid clay, where different clays and pigments react with each other, creating an abstract expression. Clay saves information and has storaging properties, which is why I try to create with a good feeling and be present. Clay is like a breathing living being to me. Clay is also called the skin of the Earth because everything that passes through the clay becomes new and pure. There are clays that contain the ancient creative energy, pure information about the first creation of life. My clay paintings are harmonious, with an interesting and inviting texture, whispering gently to the observer. These are works of higher frequency born from the depths of the earth, with a balancing and peace-creating energy.
