Bio

Andreas Kleovoulou Andreas Kleovoulou was born on July 17 1947 in Cyprus. Since when he was a boy he shown interest in painting and during the High school years he was making theatre designs for the school shows. He studied Fine Arts and Art History at the Ontario College of Art at Toronto Canada. He stayed in Canada for 10 years where he participated in group shows. After his return to Cyprus he was painting and also teaching art, privately in the beginning and working for the Government as an art teacher later. His work consists of 4 circles. After graduation and during his stay in Canada he worked on α number of paintings called <<Couples>>. In Cyprus he made many watercolor landscape paintings. He also worked on a number of drawings, mostly silverpoint. His last circle and the most important for the artist is called <<Woman come forward>>. The paintings are mostly made with oil and the artist is trying to show that the woman made a big step forward but is not totally free yet. Andreas Kleovoulou had 19 one man shows in Cyprus and he participated in many group exhibitions. Most of the artist paintings belong to private collections and some are the property of Cyprus Government and Municipalities.
