Bekmyrat (Bek) Hallyyev is a 34 years old artist from Frankfurt, Germany. He was born on April 10, 1988 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. At the age of 19 he emigrated to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, where he did his training in web design and digital marketing from 2008 to 2009. After completing his education, he studied architecture and design at the Belarusian National Technical University in Minsk from 2009 to 2015. During his studies, he was awarded by various art and de-sign exhibitions. In 2012, Bek became a DAAD scholar and attended courses at the University of Regensburg in Germany. The trip to Germany impressed him so much that he returned to Germany in 2015. Since then, Bek has been living in Frankfurt am Main, working in the creative and art space. “I love observing people in cities, their behavior and their feelings. I walk around the city and let the people inspire me to paint portraits. I don't portray the people themselves, but the mixture of these and my feelings that rise in me when I paint. My artworks consist of people and my feelings.”
