Bio

Mauricio Siller Obregon Mauricio Siller is a Muralist, painter, sculptor, draftsman, ceramicist, and lithographer. It has gained an important place in avant-garde Mexican art. He has been teacher in artistic atelier in the Iberoamerican university of México City. Throughout his career, he has participated in more than 90 group exhibitions and 60 individual exhibitions in Mexico and abroad and has received recognition from institutions such as UNAM, University Anáhuac, and the Government of Mexico City. Born in Mexico City Siller Obregón combines his artistic activities with poetry, his work includes a varied and colorful style in which sidereal themes abound, cosmic and magical elements that dialogue with air, marine, fire and terrestrial creatures as well as elements of ancient Mexico and current. His works are based on classical and traditional forms with a tendency towards exquisite modernism, accessible and simple, keeping the proportions, without losing the expression and without departing from the ethereal, the mythological, with a mastery in the domain of the dimensions, the technique and its language that never loses a pleasant freshness even for the most demanding tastes. This master represents the emerging but solid generation of Mexican artists with a constructive present, backed by their creative sense, responsibility, and vocation that are evident in their exceptional works.
