Devin Saunders is a 24-year-old 1st year Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona in the de-partment of Nutritional Science & Wellness. When he is not busy with his studies, he is honing his art skills by combining multiple art styles, and pushing limits to become a versatile artist. In his two years of creating digital art, he has created over 350+ pieces. Started as an “under-ground artist” Devin is ready to take the next big step.
When I think of my art, I can only describe it as head turning, and at times thought provoking. I love using bright and vivid colors to catch the viewer’s attention and using smaller details to make the viewer think about a hidden meaning. My approach to my art is to try to tell a story; if life has taught me anything in my 24 years of life it is that as people, we have a lot more in common than we think. This means we have a lot of relatable connections points and at times we can share the same story and or on the same journey. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland, but I am currently in grad school working to get my Ph.D. in Nutritional Science at the University of Arizona. For this exhibit I will be displaying my digital art works that I have made via ‘Procreate app’. This is my very first exhibit and hopefully the first of many, please enjoy.
