Bio

Philippe Vigier is a French painter, born in 1964 in Soyaux, France. He began oil painting in 2001, in the studio of master Xavier Pesme. After 4 years of apprenticeship, during which he co-pied masters of the 17th century and acquired their techniques, his master suggested that he continue solo and create his own creations. Since 2005, he has been creating his own composi-tions or composing those imagined by his collectors, he has been a professional painter since the end of 2020. He likes to be the hand that materializes virtuality. His works belong to private collections in France, Austria, the United States and Canada and to the public collection of the town hall of Champniers in France.
Making the imagination visual, interpreting the nature that surrounds us and making it redisco-ver, immortalizing a moment of life, are his sources of motivation to join his studio every day, with the same pleasure. He aspires to accompany his collectors in their quest to acquire a work that resembles them, a work that speaks to them. He likes to be the hand that materializes vir-tuality. When the emotion of the new owners or the spectators of his paintings is there, it is an immense joy, if a tear bead on their cheek, it is pure happiness. It is these moments of sharing, sometimes very brief, that motivate him to stay alone for hours in his studio. He does not seek to produce quantitative work, but qualitative work, which is why he paints very few paintings in a year. A painting leaves its studio only if it pleases it.
