Bio

During my first visit to Australia in 2015, I was so touched by the overwhelming scenic impressions that I really wanted to pass on these experiences and emotions. Fortunately, a short time later I met Carsten Westphal, the desert painter, at a painting course. Through his special working techniques, he awakened in me the enthusiasm for creating rough and fine structures through building materials and pigments on canvas. Furthermore, with the artist Gabriele Musebrink I got to know other materials such as swamp lime, various production processes of colours with pigments and binders as well as some application techniques that were unknown to me until then. So now I have a large repertoire with which I can express what I want to convey.
My concern is to touch people with my art - to touch on a deeper level. I work intuitively without a superficially recognisable motif, inspired by my above-mentioned experiences and emotions, which makes the works unique. The statements of my paintings can be different for each viewer. For example, one person may find a picture upsetting or depressing, while another may associate it with tranquillity or harmony. Thus, depth or only superficial structure can be perceived depending on the respective interpretation.
I work abstractly and expressively with building materials (marble powder, marsh lime, adhesive plaster plaster, binder), stone flours, warm glues, pigments, inks, stains etc. which I apply to canvas, wooden surfaces and various papers, creating different effects. Through these structure-generating materials, the pictures become plastic, relief-like, which can only be partially influenced or is unpredictable. Again and again, impressive and surprising effects emerge.
My paintings are a reflection of my soul and may touch their counterpart on the vibrational level.
