Michaela Skuhrava grew up in Italy, first in Genoa, where her father Tomas Skuhravy played football for five years, then in Milan where she moved for studies. She graduated in design with a specialization in fashion and also obtained an academic degree in the field of design and engineering. She thus acquired in-depth artistic knowledge and a solid painting technique ranging from drawing with charcoal to nude, landscape, still life and sketching.

After a start in fashion design, which did not allow her to fully express her creativity and imagination due to the limits imposed by her clients, she decided to channel her energy into painting, which allowed her to express herself without restrictions and to indulge her imagination.

Almost like a chameleon, Michaela loves to research and discover new techniques and materials and to combine different colors and styles, which she mixes together in a sometimes deliberately exaggerated and provocative way.
The tactile and sensory experience is fundamental to her work. Each image she creates expresses through its material texture her feelings and thoughts and her perception of the particular moment in which it was created.
