When I met Omayra, she represented the hope of so many ‘latina’ women: single mom, having found a way to study hard to climb the ladder of corporate America while being involved in her local community of Tuckahoe, NY, so things can change. Since then, she reached the position of CEO at the Institute of Applied Human Dynamics (IAHD) to help people with disabilities, and became the Mayor of Tuckahoe, first female of color in that position.
