Bio

Carolina Bradbury I was born in Buenos Aires, on January 26th, 1973. I got a degree in fashion design and worked for the main brands in Argentina until 2000, when I decided to make a change in my career and dedicate myself entirely to art. My first steps were in painting and over the years I’ve been incorporating new disciplines such as photography, and sculpture, the latter being my favorite. I have done different workshops and classes for the past 20 years and in my own atelier. I’m constantly exploring new techniques and challenges. I’ve taken classes at Silvermine, New York Academy of Art and New York School of Art where I profited from the diversity and points of view of other artists. Art is my refuge where time stops and ceases to exist when I plunge into a work of art. I simply love what happens inside me when I surrender myself to this intense, intuitive and sensitive connection I establish with it. Perhaps this is the reason that constantly leads me to explore different techniques, materials and disciplines. Each work denotes my mood, my beliefs, my admiration for the creation, perfection and beauty of nature and human beings. My journey started when I was just a kid with painting. Exploring pencils, pastels and acrylics that led me to the present and fun discovery of working on watercolors. I am caught in the last series I am working on amongst stains and color that wake up imaginary characters in my mind. Photography calms my anxiety allowing me to capture through the lens the magic of light, volume, color, texture and form. My great passion is sculpture, which came to me 10 years ago. I feel constantly challenged by its three-dimensionality and the complexity of material. The lost wax percolated into bronze, epoxy, wire, stone, wood and clay inspire a joy and a strength in me when I witness forms coming to life from nothingness and art is born …
