Kiera Schlansky is an American physician and self-taught artist who focuses on the healing pow-er of the meditative and transformational process of creativity. Her work captures the primal im-petus of human expression and celebrates its many forms. This piece, Awaken, was started in 2016 but completed in 2020 during the initial surge of the pandemic in the United States, and represents the importance of coming home to oneself in order to serve others. It is a visual rep-resentation of the evolving expansion that is possible when we make our true selves visible to the world.
